Improving maintenance, inventory and asset data on the Anasuria FPSO
Asset One supported Anasuria Operating Company across a multi-workstream improvement programme covering maintenance optimisation, materials management, asset data, equipment criticality, governance, workflows and ERP transformation.
The work combined offshore execution with maintenance engineering, inventory improvement and management system development, ensuring that physical improvements, business processes, data and Maximo development were addressed together.

What needed to be addressed
The improvement programme involved several connected issues rather than a single isolated problem.
Maintenance plans required review and optimisation. Maintenance backlog and work management arrangements required improvement. Equipment criticality and maintenance decisions needed stronger alignment. Materials and spare parts information required review and improvement. Offshore storage locations required physical review, rationalisation and stock verification. Item Master information required creation and improvement within Maximo. Maintenance, inventory and asset data workflows needed to be clearly defined.
The organisation was also progressing from Maximo 7.6 towards Maximo Application Suite, requiring technical input to ensure that system development reflected the operating model and engineering requirements.
The key challenge was ensuring that maintenance, materials, asset data, workflows and ERP configuration were treated as one connected management system rather than separate improvement projects.
How we approached the work
Asset One provided practical support across both offshore and onshore workstreams. The approach included:
- Review of existing maintenance arrangements and maintenance performance
- Maintenance plan review and optimisation
- Equipment criticality review
- Maintenance backlog rationalisation
- Review of safety and environmentally critical element maintenance requirements
- Materials and spare parts review
- Physical review of the main stores and supplementary storage areas
- Identification and segregation of obsolete and scrap materials
- Storage location reorganisation
- Physical stock counting and verification
- Review and creation of Item Master information
- Improvement of equipment, maintenance and inventory data
- Development and revision of maintenance and materials workflows
- Governance documentation development
- Support to Maximo improvement and the transition from Maximo 7.6 to MAS
Defined deliverables
Maintenance optimisation
Review and optimisation of maintenance requirements and existing maintenance plans.
Criticality review
Review of equipment criticality to improve alignment between asset importance, maintenance strategy and operational risk.
Backlog rationalisation
Structured review of maintenance backlog to improve prioritisation and remove inappropriate or obsolete work.
Inventory improvement
Physical stock verification, storage rationalisation and improvement of inventory information.
Item Master development
Creation and improvement of structured Item Master information for use within Maximo.
Workflow development
Development and revision of workflows governing maintenance, materials, asset data and associated ERP processes.
ERP transformation support
Technical support to ensure that Maximo development and MAS transition decisions reflected operational and engineering requirements.
Governance documentation
Development and revision of the procedures and governance documents required to support consistent execution.
Connected system
The work recognised that maintenance performance cannot be improved by changing PM routines alone. Equipment hierarchy, criticality, maintenance strategy, work management, spare parts, inventory data, ERP functionality and governance must operate as a connected system.
What the work achieved
The programme provided Anasuria with:
- 01Rationalised and optimised maintenance requirements
- 02Improved alignment between equipment criticality and maintenance decisions
- 03Improved maintenance backlog quality
- 04Better visibility and control of offshore materials
- 05Verified physical inventory information
- 06Improved Item Master and materials data
- 07Clearer maintenance and materials workflows
- 08Stronger governance documentation
- 09Technical alignment between engineering requirements and ERP transformation
