Enterprise Asset Management transformation strategy

Developing the strategy for an integrated Enterprise Asset Management system to improve maintenance, inventory and procurement performance.

Asset One was engaged to undertake a detailed review of Tullow Oil's existing maintenance, inventory and procurement arrangements before developing the strategy for Project NEMO — a business-wide Enterprise Asset Management transformation programme.

Working alongside key stakeholders, Asset One identified opportunities to improve business processes, strengthen data quality and create a fully integrated approach to maintenance, inventory, procurement and asset management.

  • Maintenance management review
  • Inventory management assessment
  • Procurement process review
  • Business process mapping
  • Asset hierarchy and data review
  • Maximo strategy development
  • Change management planning
  • Data quality assessment
  • Future operating model development

Integrated EAM

Asset One developed the strategic proposal for Project NEMO — an integrated Enterprise Asset Management transformation centred on IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS9), creating a connected business environment where maintenance, inventory and procurement operate through common processes and trusted data. Rather than viewing Maximo as simply a software implementation, Asset One focused on designing the business processes, governance, data and organisational change required to create a sustainable Enterprise Asset Management system — connecting people, processes, systems and data into a single operating model designed to support long-term asset performance.

Outcomes

What the work achieved

The proposed transformation would deliver:

  • 01Connected end-to-end asset management processes
  • 02Improved confidence in operational data
  • 03Better maintenance planning
  • 04Improved inventory visibility
  • 05Reduced procurement delays
  • 06Better maintenance cost control
  • 07Improved reporting and analytics
